Jesus Is Just Alright

The lyrics express a steady, uncomplicated acceptance of Jesus. The singer repeats that Jesus is “all right with me,” while saying other people’s opinions, words, or actions do not matter. This creates a mood of confidence and loyalty rather than doubt or argument.

The phrase “all right with me” is an informal way to say that someone is acceptable or welcome. The repeated lines about not caring what others “may say” or “may do” suggest the singer will keep this personal belief even if it is questioned. The “do, do, do” passage works less like a statement and more like a musical refrain, keeping the song light and singable.

A voice interrupts with “He’s not Jesus,” creating a brief contrast with the singer’s repeated affirmation. It is unclear from the lyrics alone who this voice represents or whether it is meant seriously, playfully, or as a challenge. The interruption does not change the main speaker’s position: the song presents faith as a personal choice that remains firm despite disagreement.
