Lyrics meaning

The lyrics describe a speaker caught in a troubling relationship with cocaine, suggested by “white lines” and the reference to “lines of blow.” At first, the speaker seems drawn to the excitement and closeness it brings. As the song continues, that attraction sits beside signs of harm: lost sleep, deception, and the warning that it is “a slow death.” The mood is both energized and uneasy.

“White line fever” seems to mean an intense craving or rush connected to the drug, rather than an ordinary illness. Calling the speaker “the one deceiver” hints at dishonesty, perhaps toward a partner or toward oneself. “Made me a believer” sounds like the drug has convinced the speaker of its power, while “take me away from you” suggests it may also pull the speaker away from another person.

The lyrics do not spell out exactly who is speaking to whom, or whether “you” refers to a lover, the drug, or both. That uncertainty makes the relationship feel tangled: desire, blame, and dependence overlap. The final claim that it has not killed the speaker “yet” is darkly ironic. It can sound defiant, but it also acknowledges that the danger remains.
