Lyrics
History in the making
Word, sound, and power
Make wicked tremble
Back 'way
Back 'way
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word, hey, that's the power of the word
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word makes wicked tremble
That's the power of the word
I was there to welcome Mandela to Florida
A brief stop over of his historic visit to America
And what transpired there came as no surprise
How hispanic induced exercise apartheid in disguise
But the shepherd was strong
He paid them little attention
He said, "Brothers and sisters, remember these words
Keep the pressure on"
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word, that's the power of the word
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word makes wicked tremble
That's the power of the word
In Washington an official welcome by the president
Just the beginning of this great historic event
In New York, tens of thousands
Detroit, tens of thousands
LA, Atlanta, tens of thousands
In Boston, tens of thousands
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word, that's the power of the word
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word makes wicked tremble
That's the power of the word
Word, sound, and power
Word, sound, and power
Word, sound, and power
And in store of Europe, just like in Miami
The spoken word started controversy
It wasn't the place in Europe made the headlines
But you know great is a man who's not afraid to speak his mind
The shepherd was strong
He rose to the occasion
He said, "Brothers and sisters, remember these words
Keep the pressure on"
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word, that's the power of the word
The word cuts sharper than a razor
The word is stronger than the sword
The word makes wicked tremble
That's the power of the word
