Longing For Fire

The speaker sounds restless and emotionally strained, caught between painful nights and a desire to move toward something brighter. The repeated search for light and hope of escaping the night suggest a wish to leave sadness or confusion behind. Although time keeps passing, the speaker says they are still on their way, which gives the ending a small sense of determination rather than a clear resolution.

“Fire” may represent passion, excitement, or a feeling of being fully alive; the speaker’s longing for it suggests that something important feels missing. The contrast between night and light presents darkness as a difficult state and light as relief or direction. “She’s lost in time” is less clear: it could mean that a woman is absent, that a relationship belongs to the past, or simply that the speaker feels separated from her.

The lyrics are brief and somewhat fragmented, so they do not explain exactly what happened or what the speaker hopes to find. “Flying with the guys” might describe a shared adventure, but its connection to the sadness is uncertain. The repeated lines make the search feel ongoing, as if the speaker has not yet escaped the night or found the “fire” they want.
