It's Always You

The repeated word “funny” may suggest gentle surprise, but it could also soften a more serious sense of being unable to move on. “You dare me to be untrue” is especially ambiguous: it may mean the beloved’s presence makes new love feel like betrayal, or simply that the speaker feels challenged to forget them.
