Lyrics
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, let me sow pardon
Where there is doubt, let me sow faith
Where there is darkness, let there be light
Where despair is heavy, awaken hope
Where there is sadness, let holy joy arise
O Divine Master, teach me how
Not to seek comfort but to console
Not to be understood but understand
Not to be loved but love as you command
O Divine Master, grant that I may see
Not to be consoled as to console
Not to be understood as to understand
Not to be loved as to love
O Divine Master, teach me how
Not to seek comfort but to console
Not to be understood but understand
Not to be loved but love as you command
For it is in giving that we receive your grace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned by your face
And it is in dying to self that we are born anew
Born to eternal life in you
O Divine Master, teach me how
Not to seek comfort but to console
Not to be understood but understand
Not to be loved but love as you command
For it is in giving that we receive your grace
