This album is dedicated to L.A
And everybody who helped me get home
Every step of the way
Uh, yeah
I was homeless, walking Century off an ounce and a bottle of Hennessy
Senselessly asking God why he did what he did to me
Shit, it took me ten years plus to build this up
Twenty-four crates of vinyl and breaks was in that truck
Turntables, speakers, keyboards, my TV, and more
My five-thousand dollar microphone was in that truck
Plus all the masters on my G5, random sessions and B-sides
Photos, everything I archive was in that truck
And the same day I got robbed, I find out I'm having a son
But couldn't think about him with this piling up; as a child
I wasn't fortunate enough to have a style
So I used to rock holes in my clothes and hand-me-downs
Only time we ate good is when we used to live at Granny's house
But Granny died, now I'm asking, "why am I alive?"
Before I opened my eyes
My younger brother got sentenced with double life
Now all I wanna do is fight
Police killing children too young to read or write
Dismayed a President's run because he wasn't white
I started thinking they was after me
I'm financially broke, but signed a six mil' deal, contractually
Above everything, I haven't seen El'
She was going on four, now she going on twelve
I just snapped, like a branch off a tree
Like an angel who fell into Hell without wings
A lost angel
I lost my studio, I lost my book of rhymes (A lost angel)
I lost the place I was living in at the time (A lost angel)
My brother lost control, now he's serving time
I lost loved ones at the same time
I lost track of time (A lost angel)
I lost my first son and lost my sunshine (A lost angel)
I lost a six mil' deal that I signed (A lost angel)
I lost everything that I thought was mine, that's when I lost my mind
Tryna find a lost angel
I was taught not to talk to a stranger
But I didn't even recognize myself, talking outta anger
Blaming and aiming at you
Believing lies, not knowing what I'm saying ain't true
Have you ever been blind with perfect vision?
Have you ever felt dead while you living?
Have you ever disrespected everyone that you know?
Thinking that 'you against the world' is the only way you can go? No
You never cussed out your mom, pops, and lady
The cops, your best friends, your business partners โ you crazy?
Maybe, punching holes in the walls at hotels
Hiding in bushes from cops so they don't take you to jail
Then โ bam, you get caught, and get hit with no bail
Got jumped twice by the Bloods before you got to your cell
I thought of Heaven a lot, while I was locked up in Hell
Like I lost my wings and fell
I felt like a lost angel
I lost my studio, I lost my book of rhymes (A lost angel)
I lost the place I was living in at the time (A lost angel)
My brother lost control, now he's serving time
I lost loved ones at the same time
I lost track of time (A lost angel)
I lost my first son and lost my sunshine (A lost angel)
I lost a six mil' deal that I signed (A lost angel)
I lost everything that I thought was mine, that's when I lost my mind
Tryna find a lost angel
