Pain in my heart
So much pain in my heart
Look, started from the bottom
We was just tryna get to the top (uh huh)
I love my niggas, I tell 'em, "We all we got" (we all we got)
Thinkin' 'bout my son
First dude I got cool with when we moved on the block
This was back when Damani had first got shot
Miss my motherfuckin' dawg, went to the same school
Used to dip out of class to link up in the halls (uh huh)
Sneakin' to buy weed, now we posted up at the Chinese store
Hopin' somebody would buy us a cigar (buy me a Dutch)
Then we evolved to breakin' in houses and stealin' cars
This was when I started gettin' raw with the bars (cap)
Went from takin' niggas' Jordans at the bus stop
To packin' .38s and jumpin' gates after we bust shots (talk to 'em)
A young, wild adolescence (huh), packin' the Wesson
Country Mike fronted me some work
I'ma package and sell it (I roast it up)
Sittin' on the bando steps, writin', recite it for my nigga
He would hype it like, "Brodie
I promise you, you the nicest" (you the nicest, nigga)
Uh, all through the city, every neighborhood, we ran (huh)
He be like, "Who wanna battle?
I got whatever on my man" (I got whatever)
Cappin' to the hoes like, "You know who this is, bitch?
This the GOAT, and don't jump on my dick after we blow"
Fuckin' the same hoes, sharin' the same clothes (yeah)
Goin' half on the sub of the month
That was my woe (that was my nigga)
Used to go to school and studio when the block was slow
He pulled up in the fiend rental, I said I couldn't go
"Stay here", he said, "I'm comin' back, it might be late"
Two hours later, heard he crashed in a high speed chase
It took my motherfuckin' heart from me (yeah)
But as long as I live, you always gon' be a part of me
Try to smoke away the pain, I couldn't shake it (uh uh)
I wish my nigga was hear to see that
His boy made it (you see your boy, right?)
I know God had a purpose, music saved my life
If I wasn't recordin', I would've been with him that night (hah)
This for my niggas that ain't make it out the struggle and it's real
I keep that forty on me in the field 'cause I know they wanna be me
(I know they wanna be me)
That's why I keep my circle small and I'm always standin' tall
Guns up with my back against the wall, I can't let no one deceive me
(I can't let no one, no, I can't let no one)
(No, I can't let no one, no, I can't let no one)
This for my niggas that ain't here, I'm forever droppin' tears
I never forgot about you through the years, man
I wish that you could see me (I know that you can see me)
Know I wish that you could see me (man, I know that you can see me)
And I remember we was broke and we was always on our own (on our own)
Always knew that we could make it with the songs
And ain't no one believe me (ain't no one)
And ain't no one believe me (I swear that ain't no one believe me)
Yeah, and Shay, I miss you, my nigga (I miss you, king)
Uh, I'll never let 'em forget you, my nigga (DJ Shay forever)
My heart is broken in a million pieces
That's why I'm rappin' these words now
Cryin' tears in this tissue, my nigga
This shit got me hurtin' bad
Way worse, this shit worse than bad (I'm crushed), the whole city sad
'Cause you ain't really fully get to reap
The benefits from all the work you had put in
For thirty years, you was just gettin' in your Birkin bag
As Ricky Hyde would say it, shit was just startin' to get beautiful
I wrote this while gettin' dressed for your funeral (shh)
And I hope heaven got a studio
Thinkin' 'bout all the lives, including mine
That you impacted with this music, bro (you a legend)
Wish you got your flowers while you were still alive
Drunk a bottle with Shamerra and Dominic and I cried (your kids)
When I got out the hospital from the shots I survived
You recorded me and helped me get
Confidence and my stride (keep killin' these niggas)
Remember we fell out and had words
That resulted in me throwin' punches
(Uh huh) seen you a few weeks later
At James' spot, we ain't speak like we ain't know each other
When we close as brothers and life too
Short to be holdin' grudges (that's a fact)
Hugged it out, now we drinkin' Remy and rollin' Dutches (Remy)
I just wish I had a chance to tell
My bro I love him (I love you, nigga)
Feel like a week straight, I cried, I'm forever droppin' tears
But I know I got an angel in the sky
This for my niggas that ain't make it out the struggle and it's real
I keep that forty on me in the field 'cause I know they wanna be me
(I know they wanna be me)
That's why I keep my circle small and I'm always standin' tall
Guns up with my back against the wall, I can't let no one deceive me
(I can't let no one, no, I can't let no one)
(No, I can't let no one, no, I can't let no one)
This for my niggas that ain't here, I'm forever droppin' tears
I never forgot about you through the years, man
I wish that you could see me (I know that you can see me)
Know I wish that you could see me
(Man, I know that you can see me)
And I remember we was broke and we was always on our own
Always knew that we could make it with the songs
And ain't no one believe me (ain't no one)
And ain't no one believe me
Uh, they ain't believe in me
Yeah, uh, Machine
You gotta love me
The fuckin' greatest, nigga
I'm a legend
We made it, nigga
Yeah, I remember they used to hate on me
I remember they used to think I wasn't gon' be nothin'
Look how I turned out
Yeah, all this pain in my heart
Forever droppin' tears for my niggas
Yeah, Green Eyed Bandit, Rockwilder
Yeah, From King to a God, nigga
Yeah, Drumwork, Griselda
I'm a fuckin' boss, nigga
We did it, ChineGun, we did it
Well, my first, my first thing would be
I would tell you that these boys is straight hip hop
Like, I come from the old school era of hip hop
Even though I'm a lil' older than them
And they come from that era as well
As far as knowin' the essence of hip hop
But I see, um, with, with their talent
And if you've never heard 'em,
I'm gonna tell you, they're gonna take you on a different ride
Like, Westside is gonna put you in a, in a mind state of a, um
Lemme see, how can I describe it?
His uniqueness, and his, his,
He gon' have you flashy and lookin' good, you know
And then Conway's gon' come with the type of lyrics
That's, uh, that, that the world needs, the world needs
I don't wanna compare 'em to nobody 'cause if
You ask me, they, they're compared to the best
They gon' compare Westside to, like,
The Raekwons, and the, and that era
Yeah, uh, uh, you may say that, but I, I,
I look beyond that, you know what I mean?
'Cause I been listenin' to these boys
Just as long as I been listenin' to them
So I wouldn't make that comparison, I would say great music and, um
Conway, if you a lyricist, or you enjoy lyrics, that's, that's, that's
I put him in the heavyweight category,
There's only a few people I would put in the heavyweight category
Like in my top five, you know, my boys, my boys is in there
In the real top five, amongst the HOVs, and you know what I mean
And the classic Rakims and the, you know, Eric Bs
These boys is on that level in this era right now, you know
So that's what I would tell somebody
If you like real hip hop, and you into real hip hop,
These is the go to guys for that, you know what I mean?
This ain't that old, uh, I don't even,
I don't wanna disrespect no type of music 'cause it's all good craft
If you want that real hip hop, that real shit you can feel
These boys is what's happenin' right now
