Lyrics meaning

The speaker presents himself as a “Wolf” who lives apart in the woods, but whom a woman calls when she is in trouble. He then describes a relationship shaped by money and unequal expectations: he spends to please her, yet fears she will leave once she has his fortune. The mood moves from boastful self-description toward hurt, suspicion, and anger.

The woods suggest distance or independence, while calling the Wolf “out of the woods” implies turning to him for help when things go wrong. The repeated claim that he spends his money to make the woman “satisfied” shows his effort to win her approval, but also hints that money has become central to their bond. His final threat to “wreck her life” is a fierce expression of resentment, not necessarily a literal plan.

The song can be heard as a complaint about feeling used and abandoned. Still, the speaker’s account is only one side of the relationship: he assumes the woman wants his money and will reject him afterward, but the lyrics do not explain her motives. The Wolf image may signal toughness and danger, while the speaker’s repeated insistence on being wronged also reveals vulnerability beneath that hard persona.
