Ah yeah (I need to know)
Be the realist, ah yeah (I need to know)
'Cause I'm the realist, huh yeah
Split the dutches, fill it with the skunk (yeah check it)
We about to get wicked in the joint, uh Notorious, just glorious (we the realist)
Niggers know who's the mind blower, the weed grower
Have you seeing doubles like Noah, the rhyme flower
B.I.G. top notch with the Glock check your pockets
And your sock, it's just the way my pops taught me
When you throw the drop check 'em thoroughly
The bastard might spin around and try to bury me
And dead niggers don't make no moves
When I'm slinging in the hood, I don't fake no moves, a'ight?
Reminiscing on my swinging days
When I drove a Caddy and my bitch sported finger waves
Yeah, she had the Gucci boots, I had Sarducci suits
Oshkosh-begosh Coca-Cola looking real cute
Junior M.A.F.I.A. representing Bucktown
Mac-11 cocked back niggers better duck down
Face down you know the routine the cream
Earrings, you know the drama Biggie bring
Be the realist (let's get it on) huh yeah (I need to know that)
I'm under pressure, the stress have me drinking
Thinking niggers after me, much too paranoid to blink
Wonder why the police don't want to see me stacking G's
They after a player but I won't let 'em capture me
I gotta thank the Lord for the weed and the nicotine
I can't sleep, close my eyes, I see wicked deams
I keep my pistol by my bedside, one in the chamber
Preoccupied with homocide, my life's in danger
Rolling down the 45, beware of stangers
Hand on my 45, that's what the fame does
I'm probably wrong but I'll never know it 'till I'm gone
From out the gutter where the jealous motherfuckers roam
Pass the weed, let that Hennessey get to me
Before the penitentiary
Be the realist (let's get it on)
Ah yeah (I need to know) check it ah
'Cause I'm the realist
Huh yeah, check that flow (I need to know)
How long will it last? I wish it wasn't war
I know I got the skill to make records, they need to put me on
Some say I'm wrong to write about rap songs about the way I feel
Sayin' I won't last long
I gotta be strong, even though my life ain't shit
Hoping and praying to live the tip, won't quit
Sometimes I try to borrow some loot
Muther fuckers be rough, think their ass too cute
To lend a helping hand, short arms and deep pockets
But I'm here to see the hands stick out when I sky rocket
And get the profit, watch everything go in reverse
Niggas should've known from junk to what it's worth
I give birth to a track when I spit the lyrics
Style so phat, boy you're skinny like an anorexic
I went through so much drama
I can write a book on how to deal with drama
Be the realist
Ah yeah, uh (I need to know)
'Cause I'm the realist
Huh, yeah, check it (I need to know)
Be wise, my enterprise like Star Trek
Got niggas flexed 'cause I be fuckin' up their whole set yet
Nigga's upset, my lyrics are their threat
So wack MC's jet, see their chance to vet
Never forget the Houston drama
My hook up track, quick beat, smokin' on ganja gangja
(I need to know that)
Be the realist
Ah yeah (I need to know)
'Cause I'm the realist
Huh yeah, on the real dawg (I need to know) check it
Be the realist
