From six to 18, I lived with you
Almost everything that I know, I learned from you
I was a little hard-head, I made a lot of people mad
But you stayed on me, got me on the right path
And boy, I'm glad
RL Burnside
RL Burnside, yeah
Got me a new drum set when I was 16 years old
Two hundred dollars short
Big Daddy said, "Here boy, here ya go"
Thought I was gonna leave without a drum set that day
But Big Daddy did what he always did
And he saved the day
RL Burnside (oh)
RL Burnside, yeah (yeah)
RL Burnside
RL Burnside, yeah (yeah)
A lot of y'all know him as RL Burnside
But I know him as Big Daddy
So I wrote this song in memory of RL Burnside
Better known as Big Daddy
May he rest in peace
Always and forever
RL Burnside
RL Burnside, yeah
RL Burnside
RL Burnside, yeah
