Lyrics
(The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men / Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness / For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children / And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers / And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee / Upon thee)
Behold here this child of God
I speak the word as the good book taught
The voices came revealing the truth
They came for miles to hear my views
They praised my name, their new found king
The bowed their heads as I begin to preach
Believing the stories theyโve all been told
That Iโve return to save their souls
God speaks through me
Heaven awaits for those who believe
I am here to test your faith
Follow me to the pearly gates
For I am the new Messiah
Iโm here to show you the way
The others that came before me, they have all been led astray
For I am my brotherโs keeper
I will be here with you โtil the end
I will walk you through the valley of death into the promised land
The apostle has risen once again
You can still hear me preach today
I stand on the corner of Fifth and Main
I scream the word at passersby
Disheveled look and Bible held high
Waving signs that the end is near
But Godโs returned so have no fear
A new Messiah has now been born and
I walk the streets with my crown of thorns
God speaks through me
Heaven awaits for those who believe
I am here to test your faith
Follow me to the pearly gates
For I am the new Messiah
Iโm here to show you the way
The others that came before me, they have all been led astray
For I am my brotherโs keeper
I will be here with you โtil the end
I will walk you through the valley of death into the promised lands
The apostle has risen once again
(Father, why have you forsaken me?)
