Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like John in the Jordan
Lord, wash my sins away
That's right
C'mon, son
C'mon, sing that song
Brother Pool was standing with his hands up in the air
Robed in white with water to his waist
Gathered with a congregation on a Sunday afternoon
We stood there on the riverbank and prayed
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like John in the Jordan
Lord, wash my sins away
Ooh
Oh, yeah (here we go)
C'mon
Daddy held my mother's hand as she was next in line
She never learned to swim and was afraid
But she faced her fear of water, took a breath and closed her eyes
And went under for the Lord to show her faith
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like John in the Jordan
Lord, wash my sins away
Hey
Hey, yeah
Oh
Hey
One by one they came up testifying (testifying)
I couldn't wait to be the next to shine
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like, John in the Jordan
Just like John in the Jordan
Lord, wash my sins away
(Just like John) just like, John in the Jordan
(Just like John) just like, John in the Jordan
Just like, John in the Jordan
Lord, wash my sins away
Away
