Lyrics

All honour to Óglaigh na hÉireann A praise to the men of our race In the days of betrayal and slavery Saved Ireland from ruin and disgrace But do not forget in your praising Of them and the deeds they have done Their faithful and true-hearted comrades The soldiers of Cumann Na mBan Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the land Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan! When you honour in song and in story The fighters who shouldered a gun And wrecked not that Death's blow should reach them It's so Ireland's freedom be won Forget not the women of Ireland Who stood without terror or dread Beside those who battled so bravely Made shellfire and deluge of lead Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the van Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan! No great-hearted daughter of Ireland Who died for her sake long ago Who stood in the gap of her danger Defying the Sasanach foe 'Twas ever more valiant and worthy Of glory in high-sounding rann Than the comrades of Óglaigh na hÉireann The soldiers of Cumann na mBan! Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the van Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan! Our tricolour flew on the breezes Proclaiming o'er Dublin's old town That the men of the nation awakened 'Twould die 'ere 'twas ever hauled down And into our ranks came the heroines Like the women of Limerick of old And the smiles made the weakest a hero Write their fame, boys, in letters of gold Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the rann Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan! Through the fight in the old GPO, boys Take the grief as the flames touch the sky We lit there a fire that will blaze, boys Till the power of the Saxon shall die And we'll cherish forever her story While the pages of history we scan Of the valiant brave daughters of Erin The soldiers of Cumann na mBan! Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the land Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan! Then here's to the women of Ireland Who marched without fear in the land Old Ireland is proud of her daughters Hurrah for brave Cumann na mBan!
