Had my heart set on zero gravity
Missed the signals too muted by engine roar
Had no instruments nearing my trajectory
From the mesosphere down to the ocean floor

Maybe I belong on the ground
And mission control's not returning my calls anymore

I said the words as a kid
Unsure what they meant to me

I'll do the best with what I've got
Honorary astronaut
Maybe you made the right decision
Maybe you're too hard on yourself
But did you really think taping wings
To a new wake would mean you could fly?

Comes crashing down on who I still am
Try to be ready and excited to receive it (to deceive it)
And even if all is said and done
I'm still meant to be an
