Blinding

The speaker describes moving from a numb, dreamlike state into painful awareness. At first, the waking world feels distant, and the speaker seems unable to wake from a powerful attachment. Then a realization breaks that hold: the speaker’s body shakes, the eyes open, and the surrounding world comes alive. The repeated refusal to keep dreaming suggests a decision to stop living in longing and face reality.

Several images make this change vivid. Being “held under” suggests both being kept submerged and being trapped by someone’s influence. Thunder, lightning, and walls torn open portray awakening as a sudden, forceful storm rather than a gentle realization. The crow and the body in the garden may suggest mourning or repeatedly calling for someone who is absent or dead; the lyrics leave the exact loss unclear. “Snow White” stitching circuit boards mixes a fairy-tale figure with machinery, perhaps suggesting a strange process of repairing or reawakening the mind.

The song can be read as a release from an idealized love, grief, or another consuming dream, but it does not explain exactly what happened. “The wrong world” may mean a fantasy that felt comforting but could not match reality. The awakening seems liberating, yet the physical shaking and storm imagery show that seeing clearly can also be frightening and painful.
