Alive

The speaker describes a renewed sense of life and gratitude. At first, they focus on appreciating each day, learning from mistakes, and accepting that some things cannot be controlled. The mood then grows more joyful and certain: love or a deeply meaningful presence seems to bring peace, inspiration, and a feeling of being fully alive.

“Every breath” represents the value of simply being alive, while “let go” means accepting what cannot be changed. “Sunshine upon my face” suggests warmth, hope, and a fresh beginning. The repeated idea of being able to “fly” is not literal; it expresses freedom, confidence, or a sense that new possibilities have opened up.

The lyrics do not clearly identify who or what the speaker addresses as “you.” It could be a loved person, a spiritual presence, or another source of hope, so it is best not to assume one definite explanation. The speaker’s promise never to turn away suggests lasting commitment, even when others disagree. Overall, the song presents intense happiness, but its cause remains open to interpretation.
