"Alright so uh good to have you here
Thank you, thank you for having me
And of course he's the son of the soil
In Yoruba they called them "Omo Onile"
Ahh, that's awesome
Heard that before
No, that's the first time
I'ma remember that though
I'll remember that
Ok, so good to have you in Niger State in Nigeria first of all"
Was drowning deep in bitterness acting hysterical
All because the world left me lonely like a McAlister
You get down gotta get up believe in miracles
I need my soul to be as 'bout as rich as Lannister
Working long nights like Kobe to get my average up
Paying to perform for A&Rs that's arrogant
They ain't see the vision, the lord was teaching me parables
It's all My2k, it builds character
Never let the thought of the other be what defines you
They never notice your greatness 'til everyone idolize you
Sleep at your own risk, fans waiting on my arrival
Like families at the airport waiting for army privates
It's my year, I'm back in Naija land and all the pain disappears
I know the lord sent me here for therapy to share
This time with those I love, everyday I wake up
And who I am is more clear, yeah
I found my way back home and then I found me
If my life is just about me then I ain't free
And I'm learning, I felt the tide coming but it's turning
I know the lord with me he'll affirm it
I know that gold ain't worth more than purpose, yeah yeah
Naija's son out in Naija sun I'm shining hard
The flow still be no holes barred I'm floating like Noah's Ark
They'll play me in the clubs but I'm rapping for the nerds
I got bars for the soul and bangers harder than the curb
I start writing these lines and my soul becomes immersed
In a pool of peace, the devil could never swim
My fears begin to drown, my doubts begin to dim
And I find freedom from my past and all my haunting sins
Never let these niggas tell you who you are
They quick to see you as lesser they blinded by they own scars
Let them talk forever don't pay them no real regard
It's only boils your blood then demons feed on your heart
My dad my hero, it ain't no real discussion
He made it outta poverty he really came from nothing
That's just a saying, there's beauty in our heritage
He came from the village but he built a gated premises for real
I found my way back home and then I found me
If my life is just about me then I ain't free
And I'm learning, I felt the tide coming but it's turning
I know the lord with me he'll affirm it
I know that gold ain't worth more than purpose, yeah yeah
Thank you God for the glory and the struggle
I'm bathed in Naija son I'm bursting outta my bubble
My Dad built a second crib he made it out the rubble
I'm tryna fill his shoes I'm just hoping I don't stumble
Millions of times we have to persevere
The closest we get to greatness is when we neighbors with fear
Grateful to be alive I'm hurt that my Mom perished
At night I'm asking God like how can you not be here
Know that you here in spirit, know that you made me fearless
Know that Baba and Dad gon' live life in your image
Know that God at the wheel even when my heart is heavy
Know there's more life to live in honor of those we bury
It's on me to be the spark to shift a generation
The green and white flag is my heart and I'ma wave it
The throne is all mine in case y'all didn't get the memo
We climbing the pyramid and soon we gone be pharaohs
It's like I got hit with Cupid arrow's
The love that I got for Naija will never perish
Tell the world that there's more to our land than village children
Same place that you find struggle you also gon' find the Hilton
There's more to our story than a Unicef commercial
But there's problems to address, don't let your comfort avert you
Don't forget about the real place that mold and births you
Don't be fixated on fame then lose your virtues
Don't you lose the you that was going to El-Amin
Had dreams of being Kanu before being Kareem
Back when me and Baba was living free and climbing trees
Nowadays I only see him on the FaceTime
I wish the earth would stop and breathe but it runs at full speed
Like lions when it's lunch time suburbans when it's gun time
My mind be staying dumb high, not from smoking herbs
But tapping into the spiritual depths I do submerge and find
