"Every time we take a step we're surrounded by the ideological birds of prey who feed on our possibilities" Fredy Perlman
Scene 1: she wakes up
No lover beside her
A bed made of stone
The throne of the fighter
Calling for Orpheus
"Where is my glorious"
She knows round here's notorious
(At the edge of the stage
Lurks a shrouded figure
Footsteps come closer
Shadow grows bigger)
Demon: Is this the excuse for a muse?
Who inspires songs like the
Shrieking of the shrews?
Eurydice: Demon, you gotta be kidding me
Simply just seeing me creates a symphony
Demon: This is Hell
The swell of the storm
Where no painting nor poem
Would dare to be born
Eurydice: Oh, how I long for the daylight
How can I be dead from such a tiny snakebite?
I'm longing for Orpheus
Who's poetry could paint this
Hell hole as glorious
Demon: What God is this that you speak of?
Eurydice: He is a man not a Greek God
He is the muse of all their envy
The spirits hear his songs and
Burst into frenzy
Demon: Hmm, I would like to meet him
Surely he'll follow
The sound of your screaming
Eurydice: Yes, he would come in a heartbeat
Demon: Ha, then I will feast on his dark meat
I'm walking with Orpheus
Walk forward victorious
If you're going through Hell
I know not knowing is torturous
I'm walking with Orpheus
Walk forward victorious
Don't like back
Think of the cat who's curious
And have faith
That's faith
Scene 2: Orpheus is pleading for clemency
Stood at the gates with Hades and Persephone
Orpheus: The love I've lost's like no other
Beauty falls short; how it longs to become her
Hades: Your love is like all the others
Persephone: Definitely, just common lovers
Orpheus: we're the reason hearts are carved into stone
The greatest lovers the world's ever known
Scene 3: Orpheus cups his hands and bellows
"I'm coming for you my love"
Off the wall his words echo
Scene 4: Persephone to Eurydice
Your husband has come for you, oh my what chivalry
Go and find him and remember you're welcome
It was I who softened Hades' possession
Hades to Orpheus: stay on the track
If you look around she will be snatched right back
Scene 5: Orpheus is walking to the surface
Eurydice follows behind him so nervous
"Just stick to the path don't let no one deter us"
But to temptations, intentions are worthless
With each lack of faith see them turn into curses
Orpheus: I cannot fight these urges
With Earth in sight, he turns for observance
Hades appears to snatch back to the furnace
I'm walking with Orpheus
Walk forward victorious
If you're going through Hell
I know not knowing is torturous
I'm walking with Orpheus
Walk forward victorious
Don't like back
Think of the cat who's curious
And have faith
That's faith
Faith
That's faith
Have faith
