I been up more than i been down
I been lost for a while finally i been found
And they can try but they cant take my crown
Cause when i say bridge everybody say town
My life a movie
Glory be to god cause i know hes working thru me
Still remember everything they try fi do me
How can i forget the pussy really try fi sue me
I kept it moving
I made that money back and put it on some jewelry
So fuck whoever try fi judge me like a jury
Pay dem no mind cause me know God watch over me
And me no need no prize money
Dont need no credit from the industry
Still a give them new style fi dem try copy
No matter how you try you still cant be like me
And me dont need no round of applause
I been through hell and them no know the half
Cant believe them try fi cancel me dawg
I been up more than i been down
I been lost for a while finally i been found
And they can try but they cant take my crown
Cause when i say bridge everybody say town
A which boy call me vulture?
Like dem no know me woulda die for the culture
From me say Obeah Me me lock up any function
Lagos to Kingston go straight back to London
Dem bwoy deh nah no structure
Close minded yute him need a brain fracture
I guess im too good for this evil world
Thats why my heart turn cold not even bullet cant puncture
So tell me why them hate me?
Somebody tell me why them hate me so
Me show love to everybody anywhere me go
Them must be tired hear me singing pon them radio
But ask your girl who her favourite is
If a nuh Dudu or me i dont know who it is
See them a plan fi see me fall down pon me knees
But if me ever stop sing then who go run the biz
Honestly
Who gon give you songs for more than 10 years
Who gon make you face all your deepest fears
Who go make you cry who gon make you shed tears
Imtoo advanced yah go catch it in a hundred years
Dont see nobody that could ever come and take my place
So when i die you better cut off your ears
I get it
We only hate what we nuh understand
Them never seen so much soul inside a white man
So fuck it, carry me go station
But god alone fi judge me me nuh answer to no man
We nuh answer to no yute
Brainwashed you cant tell lies from the truth
This a nuh lyrics a nuh money this is food
Guess i had to kil the elephant inna the room
Heavy on it's lonely at the top dawg
Heavy on the rum make sure you fill it up and don't be scared to put some more on top
I need a drink I'm gonna face my fears
I need to say some things that I've been holding back for more than 10 years
This industry in debt to me
Competition dead to me
Man all these artists come and go they get one song then rise and fall still end up looking up to me
I'm everything they mada wanted them to be
I said, put in the work i had to run so they could walk
Been counted out so many times but kept on coming back
Try sell me out so many times wish you could see the scars
Me nuh fall under pressure and we no bend fi no awards I
Born in Lisbon my dreams ain't got no residence
Them tell you be yourself but don't you ever dare be different
Gwaan like me a the problem somebody make that make some fucking sense
War over Gaza and they want jail me fi me accent
They don't like me but me necessary
They don't like it when you're fearless and you step outta the ordinary
I get it, pleasing everybody scary but only one of us is living life and we both going cemetery
We both haffi face the judgement when the time comes
Judge me by the fruits of all my labour when my time done
God i was hiding from my purpose but me stop run
I'm stretching out my hands to you im proud to say I'm God's son
Im proud i hit the studio when i was feeling down
Proud i took my time, put in work and kept my head down
I'm proud i never took my two feet off the ground
I'm proud of me I'm proud of all of you I'm proud to say I'm Bridgetown
Im proud they tried to buy my soul and i turned that offer down
Im proud i never dropped my head I'm proud i never let myself down
Me born a king and me nuh need no crown
And every door them try fi lock we ago kick that motherfucka down
