Friends in some of the past shows you've heard from Bob McNett and Jerry Rivers
In fact, you could tell the two boys up here now and introduce you to 'em
And get 'em to help me do a song here
Don Helms is steel guitar player, and Hillous Butrum, the base player
They gonna join you and me
Here's a song I wrote quite a few years ago
That you folks have heard by a lot of different artists on a lot of records
We recorded ourselves to MGM
And we'd like to do it for you now
It's hymn time
Title of it is "I saw the light"
I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn't let my dear savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
And praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Just like a blind man, I wandered alone
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
I was a fool to wander and stray
For straight is the gate and narrow's the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
And praise the Lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Thank you boys-
