Ahem, my dear, Theo
Thank you very much for your fifty franc note
I spent the last on pastels
I'll probably buy some oils
Or maybe fix my teeth
I promise that I'll use it well
Has your cold finally gone away?
What about that pain?
If you come and visit for a day, I know you'll conquer that migraine
In this letter is a render, hastily drawn
A picture of this perfect yellow house in Arles
I found all on my own
A place that I can finally call home
There's so much to say, where to begin?
Anything you wanna add Gauguin?
No
My dear, Toulouse
This is great, has my judgement always been this poor?
This is great
Can you remind me what I'm even here for?
He's amusingly confusing me
The torment never ends
He's a brilliant artist and an even greater friend
Now I'm tired all the time
I'm wide awake
Hey, Paul! Catch the turpentine!
I've made a huge mistake
Every day I'm getting better
Save me once you get this letter
My dear, Vincent
This is great
My distant brother
As it was always meant to be
Let's not debate as we both recover
I came here to be an artist not a bureaucrat
You can charge a battery with our backhanded flattery
There's nowhere in this house to hide from Vincent's herbal cyanide
I swear he's a maniac!
Don't tell Theo I said that
My plan is working though my reward is overdue
Patience, Paul, you've got to see it through
For now I'll play along
Nothing can go wrong
Soon this will pay off
Soon this will pay off
Soon this will pay off
Soon this will pay off
This is great, a fine arrangement
As it was always meant to be
You innovate
You pay our rent
Take on the world together
Ever yours
Vincent
Theo
Paul
P.S. Did you receive my canvases, watch out for the wet paint
Oh
P.P.S. If it isn't too much trouble, send another fifty franc
