Glorious

The lyrics describe someone returning with renewed energy after difficult times. The speaker feels grateful for a fresh start, greater peace, and the chance to pursue dreams. The mood moves from determination and self-questioning toward confidence and celebration, while still asking what kind of mark a person leaves behind.

The “darkest part of the night” followed by “sunrise” suggests hardship giving way to hope. “A lease on life” means a renewed chance to live fully, not a literal rental agreement. The image of planting a flag suggests claiming a place or future, though the speaker admits others may not understand this ambition. The lyrics also contrast possessions with identity: belongings may be left behind, but they do not define who someone is.

The song balances personal success with responsibility to others. The speaker celebrates achievement and ambition, yet wonders whether they have given as much as they have taken and whether they acted for fame. References to family and faith suggest sources of support, but the lyrics do not explain exactly what the earlier hardship was. “Glorious” may describe triumph, gratitude, or simply a powerful feeling of being alive again; these meanings can coexist.
