Lyrics

Hit an optimist You signed up for this, oh yes you did But it's tired and you're wired well into it Gave it the thumbs up Now you drink from the same cup as one and all But it's ground you and now it's bound to set the fall You never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold Every new tone That illuminates your phone all born in haste Feeds the image on which importance is placed And you can feel it With its iron grip under the thumb Just a quick fix then you know you're ultimately numb Oh, you never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold Eyes have faded Life invaded by any means Just admiration, validation from your screens To what end? If it's all pretend, if it's just a veil And any notion of a friend's promotion will leave you pale Oh, you never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold You never felt so cold I sometimes wonder What's hiding under and where to start A digital smile can take a while to pick apart A digital smile can take a while to pick apart
