Let's take it back to where it all started
The first draft of the first song, past where it all happened
I was so confused at the time, profusely declined
The heart broke
The food was poison at times, I loitered a lot
So many things I couldn't handle because I'm insecure
Adapted to their lifestyle, so I could feel secure
About myself, shit I was lost and I was off the whole time
Tryna put out the slow fires that's lackin' the profounds
No bars and wordplay, we finna go straight
What it feel like, back in that spot, shit it was cold, ay
I see a lot of lights, that neon, jeepin' round the streets
My soul weep, the thoughts bleak
Damn really wanna smokey
Livin' on the lowkey, literally I'm choking
I was lookin' forward to myself become an oldie
Gotta get out by all means, them thoughts became the old me
I wrote it down, the first verse, and i just kept on going 'til I
I'm gonna reach the top
And it don't really matter what they say
When I come up, and they get at me
I just bang, bang, bang
When I come up, and they get at me
I just, I just, oh, I just
And I will never stop
'Cause it don't really matter what they say
And I get up, when I fall down
And I just bang, bang, bang
They wanna push me to the side
But I'll just bang, bang, bang yeah
I can still remember, first time that I did a record
I was so relentless, I tried to repeat the effort
I do remember everything, from zero distance, to this place
I do remember, used to be the goofโ belittled, everyday
I remember rap saved me, these verses serve as my therapy
What I couldn't tell anyone, these lyrics we're screaming help me
Tried spilling it one time, and all I'm hearing, it's all fine
They keep telling me every time, that depression is in the mind
They pushed me to the side, an outcast dead inside
These four walls feel smallโ die a little more every night
Pain is a good feeling, pay attention to these lyrics
Be advised it's no gimmick, this is not for y'all cynics
This is anything but hate, this is anything but fake
This is anything but bullshit, this is anything but great
This is anything but chasing papers and trophies and fame
This is everything I pour ever since the fire went ablaze
And I can feel your warmth embracing me
These wounds, they feel like nothing, 'cause you on the third degree
I give you all I got, oh my cherie yeah yeah
Give you all I got, oh my cherie yeah yeah
And I can feel your warmth embracing me
These wounds, they feel like nothing, 'cause you on the third degree
I think I'm burnin' up
I think I'm burnin' my cherie
('Cause loving you is crazy, ah, loving you is crazy, ah)
I'm gonna reach the top
And it don't really matter what they say
When i come up, and they get at me
I just bang, bang, bang
When I come up, and they get at me
I just, I just, oh, I just
('Cause loving you is crazy, ah, loving you is crazy, ah)
And I will never stop
'Cause it don't really matter what they say
And I get up, when I fall down
And I just bang, bang, bang
They wanna push me to the side
But I'll just bang, bang, bang yeah
('Cause loving you is crazy, ah, loving you is crazy, ah)
I'm gonna reach the top
And it don't really matter what they say
When I come up, and they get at me
I just bang, bang, bang
When I come up, and they get at me
I just, I just, oh, I just
('Cause loving you is crazy, ah, loving you is crazy, ah)
And I will never stop
'Cause it don't really matter what they say
And I get up, when I fall down
And I just bang, bang, bang
They wanna push me to the side
But I'll just bang, bang, bang yeah
