Down

The lyrics mix playful self-confidence with gratitude toward listeners or friends. The speaker celebrates performing and making music, then repeatedly stresses that, despite change, the group has stayed loyal and connected. The mood shifts from energetic boasting to a more direct, appreciative message: if thanks were not expressed before, the speaker wants to express them now.

Several images make this energy vivid. “Light on my sight” and “lightning” suggest brightness, speed, and excitement, while “we glow” and “throw sun rays” turn performing into a source of warmth and attention. “Keep my feet on the ground” but “my head in the clouds” contrasts staying sensible with feeling inspired or carried away by music. The phrase “we’ve always been down” is informal: it can mean staying loyal, supportive, or committed, rather than simply being physically low.

The verses are deliberately loose and full of slang, jokes, and boastful wordplay, so not every line forms a clear story. Some references may be personal or tied to the performers’ own style, but the lyrics do not explain them fully. Overall, the song can be read as a celebration of music, shared history, and continued support, with confidence balanced by a sincere note of thanks.
