Hmm-mm
I used to think I was the problem
That I wasn't made for love
Got my hopes up way too often
To be told I was too much
Too much to love, too much to deal with, mm
How did I think I was the problem?
It was so easy to hurt me
But it's not what it was
I have grown, grown up
And I'm in love with a man
Who loves me back as I am
(As I am, as I am)
As I am, as I am
All those times I would cry in the bathroom
Hide away so nobody would see
I couldn't look at that girl in the mirror
'Cause she wouldn't even look at me
She thinks I, thinks I'm too much
Too much to deal with, mm
Maybe I was never the problem
They just weren't enough
It's so easy to love me
And it's not what it was
I have grown, grown up
And I'm in love with a man
Who loves me back as I am, as I am
As I am, as I am
Wish I could talk to the girl at the party
In the corner, in the ripped-up jeans
"Settle down, be careful with your heart please
Some day, I promise you'll see"
That it's not what it was
You will grow, grow up
'Cause I'm in love with a man
Who loves me back as I am, as I am
As I am, as I am, ooh, yeah
As I am
My baby loves me as I am
Loving me is easy because he can
Mm, love as I am
