I swear the devil is evil
Just like you've always heard
But I'll say this for the devil
He sure is a man of his word
Cause once you shake his hand
And your deal is made
He'll give you what you desire
But then the man must be paid
He'll come to see you round midnight
Or maybe the night after next
You'll hear him knock knock knock
The devil always collects
He talks with a smile
And signs his name with an 'x'
That's him! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
He trades in wicked temptation
Man he's always in stock
Fools like me are lined up
Right around the block
No credit? No problem!
The price is such a steal
But when you beg to back out
You'll learn a deal is a deal
On the wheel of bad fortune
Your number is next
Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
He's holding all the cards
Now he's cashing your checks
That's him! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
On the wheel of bad fortune
Your number is next
Knock knock knock!
The devil always collects
ย
I bought that ticket to heaven
That he had to sell
But I guess I missed the fine print
About the detour to hell
He ain't in no hurry
He's got a lifetime to burn
He'll step in from the shadows
When you've nowhere left to turn
You bargained for pleasure
Fame, fortune, and sex
Pay back! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
No way in hell he'll forget you
You sure as hell can expect
He's here! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
The devil always collects
(He ain't in no hurry)
The devil always collects
(Got a lifetime to burn)
The devil always collects
(Step in from the shadows)
The devil always collects
(When you've nowhere left to turn)
You bargained for pleasure
Fame, fortune, and sex
Pay back! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
No way in hell he'll forget you
You sure as hell can expect
He's here! Knock, knock, knock
The devil always collects
