Used to wander off track but the Father brought me back
Picked up my cross & laid my life down
I was once lost now I am the found
While I was stumbling in darkness so cold
He softened the hardness & He offered me hope
Forever grateful oh what a sweet Savior how the love of my Father is so merciful
How you could love me like that
You been holding me up through it, up through it all
How you could love me like that
No, no I don't deserve it Lord You're so merciful to me yeah
You paid the price for the lost
Jesus came & covered all my wrongs on the cross, on the cross
How you could love me like that yeah
How you could love me like that oh yeah
Squandered in reckless living
Never needed to stop to ponder successful feeling
Cuz that pride popped up like you can't stop us whenever the flesh was dealing
Now that I'm back in the House of my Father
I'm spiritually mentally healing
Who is a God like You passing over transgression
With a pardon towards my sinning not quick to dish out a guilty sentence
How can I measure the distance You came couldn't fathom it in my brain
I should've died in my sin but You chose to save so I could live in Your name
How you could love me like that
You been holding me up through it, up through it all
How you could love me like that
No, no I don't deserve it Lord You're so merciful to me yeah
You paid the price for the lost
Jesus came & covered all my wrongs on the cross, on the cross
How you could love me like that yeah
How you could love me like that oh yeah
Can you hear the Father calling
It's the same way that He called for me
Sent His only Son for my wrongs up on that cross to intercede
How you could love me like that
You been holding me up through it, up through it all
How you could love me like that
No, no I don't deserve it Lord You're so merciful to me yeah
You paid the price for the lost
Jesus came & covered all my wrongs on the cross, on the cross
How you could love me like that yeah
How you could love me like that oh yeah
See there's something so powerful when you begin to look
Why did God constantly, why did Paul constantly say that you & I are adopted sons & daughters
Because there's something powerful here
When God adopts you & me into the Kingdom He cannot even disown us
Now check it out we can decide to go off into a pig pen
We can decide to waste our inheritance we can decide to get far away from God
But the reality is He's adopted you & He's standing on the porch of your life
He's not far from you & He's watching you
No matter where you've gone
No matter what you've done no matter how much you sin
No matter how much you've wasted what He's given to you He's watching you & He's waiting
Is today the day that my son or my daughter will finally come home
