Na na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
I went up to Blackpool to see a man about a dog
We started in a Wetherspoons and ended in a fog
When it came to parting I said I think I'm gonna stay
Find myself a northern girl to take me all the way
From Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
Tracey was my first love she was in my class
She played up front for the first team and never learnt to pass
I asked her out one evening and she took me into town
By the end of the second drink she was trying to settle down
From Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
Me and Mary Farmer went a-courtin' in the park
When all of these rapscallions appeared out the dark
They threatened us with violence, with abuse and with a tax
Mary scared the buggers off with a slingshot and an axe
From Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
Every Friday evening we'd go up to the Cliff
And hang around the bus shelter all trying to catch a sniff
The big lads all got lucky we were always just the dregs
Forever sent a-packin' with our tails between our legs
From Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
If you ever find yourself a northern girl to keep
To sing you drunken lullabies until you go to sleep
If you're very lucky she'll consent to be your wife
And you won't be wearing trousers for the rest of your life
From Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
I said from Merseyside to Manchester, from Carlisle to Crewe
Woah-oh Northern Girls I owe it all to you
Na na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na na
