I wake up to a sound I have heard before
A ringing tone of a bell
The dream I carry on my shoulders
I barely manage to tell
Escaped the forest and it was obvious
Those who left could survive
But those who stayed were bound to suffer
And see the falling of the last
Animals and birds beautiful
The wonders of life
Why did we leave them to die?
Those memories painted by my subconsciousness
Stored with care in my mind
That picture hangs around my neck
It's upside down and I find
A world inside its frame of a loneliness
Silence painful and vast
A garland made of withering flowers
Children's stories of the last
Animals and birds beautiful
A world full of life
Our forest blue and alive
All those trees, animals
And birds beautiful
The wonders of life
Why did we leave them to die?
ย
This life is unreal and time to time I feel
That there's something about me
Something dark surrounding me everywhere I go
I've been trying to shove these thoughts in me to that lost world
But as I'm getting old I realise that whatever happened
Cast a shadow on my life that I might deserve
So, I have to find my way back there to get closure
Oh, but the voice in my head says
"Son, it's gonna hurt"
My heart says I'll get burned
My gut screams red alert
And that I'm not ready to learn
Oh-oh-oh, the truth about that world
ย
How everything got burned
And everyone got hurt
And what happened to her
ย
But there's no way around this thing
So I have to resolve it
I close my eyes and try my best to remain calm 'cause I know this forest
Its every corner, crest and den from when I was young
But I have no idea what I'll find in here until it hits me
Oh, I'm here to reveal the concealed smoking gun
The reason I would run
The ghost, they kept me from
Who painted my hands in blood
The one with the smoking gun
ย
Oh, I know I was the one
The one with the smoking gun
The one with hands in blood
The one with the smoking gun
