Lyrics
Good people, in His holy name
We come to perform a mystery
We show how three young men of Israel
By steadfastness rose in a single day
Into the light of lasting fame
The calm, pure light of endless fame
To that imperial city Babylon
These three were brought
Sons of princes chosen out to rule
Three provinces in Babylon
In that great empire Babylon
Their fathers blessed them
Only made one rule binding upon them all
They never must in any way betray their faith
How could they know what testing lay ahead?
God give us all the strength to stand
Against the burning work of the serpent
Now, we all shall play our parts
And I, your abbot, must appear a heathen
And an evil man
It is all for the glory of God
Amen
