Lyrics
Mommy bought me a fiddle when I was a kid
Nobody ever tried as hard as I did
To get that monster soundin' in tune
So I picked up a guitar one day
I caught on fast, I thought I was hot
Tried to sing like Carter and pick like Doc
I thought I'd made it all the way to the top
'Til I heard that little girl play
I wanna be in Alison's band
Sing with Dan
Listen to Flux play the dobro
I'd even drive her bus
To hear her cuss
When she's tryin' to teach me the solo
I know Ron Block would keep me straight
And Barry would keep me in time
But Allie won't let me play in her band
So I guess I'll keep foolin' with mine
I like the pickers in my band just fine
They sure work hard on these songs of mine
My records and my shows ain't bad
But this ain't where I really wanna be
Allie oughta listen to what I say
I'm gonna be part of her show someday
I'll strike it rich and hire the whole bunch
Then she'll be workin' for me
I wanna be in Alison's band
Sing with Dan
Listen to Flux play the dobro
I'd even drive her bus
To hear her cuss
When she's tryin' to teach me the solo
Brother Ron Block would keep me straight
And Barry would keep me in time
But Allie won't let me play in her band
So I guess I'll keep foolin' with mine
Allie won't let me play in her band
So I guess I'll keep foolin' with mine
