Strange Phenomena

The lyrics describe moments when ordinary events seem unusually connected: a name appears repeatedly, someone thought about suddenly shows up, or a person seems to call from nowhere. The speaker treats these coincidences with fascination and some uncertainty. The repeated chorus celebrates the mystery, while the mention of a possible premonition shows that such experiences can also feel unsettling.

“Punctual blues” suggests a familiar, recurring mood or pattern, though its exact meaning is unclear. “Soul-birds of a feather flock together” adapts the saying “birds of a feather flock together”: it imagines people with a deep connection finding one another. The “hand a-moulding us” suggests an unseen force shaping events or lives, but the lyrics do not say what that force is.

The song can be heard as playful curiosity about coincidence, intuition, and spiritual connection. The repeated claim that someone “has the answer” sounds confident, yet the strange examples do not actually explain what causes them. The Buddhist chant adds a spiritual atmosphere, but it does not settle the question. The speaker may believe these events point to a guiding power, or may simply be enjoying how mysterious everyday life can seem.
