I though big brothers were supposed to protect me
So why's it feel like mine are trying to forget me
If my whole family thinks that I'm just a deadbeat
The shoes that I was trying to fill would be empty
And Nick I promise I won't ever forget you
I know you hate me so I'm just gonna let you
It's crazy after all the things that we went through
I still wish something I could do would impress you
And I just wish that we'd find some sort of middle ground
I guess your little brother isn't so little now
You have your family, I'm the one who got singled out
As we get older things just aren't so simple now
Last time we talked was from before I turned 17
Now I'm out in California, I'm 23
I miss my brother and my dad, I miss everything
You missed everything
But life goes on
I know you'll hear this song
North Carolina
Don't seem so far away
It's just been way too long
I know its not your fault
I needed someone
You all just walked away
