He was never really welcome there inside those temple walls
Didn't waste much time preachin' to the crowd
And the Pharisees, they couldn't see what the fuss was all about
Why all those people followed him around
But you could find him with the cast-outs, the murderers and thieves
The widows and the beggars knew his name
And the children came from miles around, just to climb up on his knee
And he met 'em with a smile, as if to say
Wherever I go, I will love the least of these with all my heart
Whatever I do, I will meet this broken world with open arms
Rest assured, wherever I am, I'm yours
Well, I learned that love goes farther than the four walls of a church
Somehow it found a sinner, just like me
And now my eyes are open to all the lost and lonely ones
So I asked the Lord to give me hands that reach
Wherever I go, I will love the least of these with all my heart
Whatever I do, I will meet this broken world with open arms
Rest assured, wherever I am, I'm yours
Well they put him on a cross, when he was only thirty-three
And they came from miles around to curse his name
And I guess it's kind of fitting that he died between two thieves
After all, they were the ones he came to save
In the end, he gave it all to say
Wherever I go, I will love the least of these with all my heart
Whatever I do, I will meet this broken world with open arms
So rest assured, wherever I am--oh, wherever I am, I'm yours
Mmm, I'm yours
