It's almost time to draw the curtain on my life
Put down this heavy load
Until I do I'll still play my guitar
While my fingers still do as they're told
It's time to draw a veil over things been said and done
'Cause I'm no more sad and blue
I still play the blues but it's just for me
It still sounds okay occasionally
My old guitar cracked and worn
Looks a bit like me
After forty-five years I let it go
To enjoy the sun in a West Coast condominium
That's okay my friend
'Cause it's almost time to draw the curtain on my life
Just a few more licks to play
Just one more song I'll play along
And in the end I'll pack my blues away
