Used to wanna be a rap star, yes sir
Guest star with Gang Starr, KRS, and De La Soul
Practice in the mirror, grab my Bose, beatbox, and then I
Twist my hair and rock a mean ol' flow
Cursed Vanilla Ice on my airbrushed mic
For doing what I was doing worst
A walking identity crisis
Just like Skip Marley in the film "The Jerk"
Singing "Welcome to my Ghetto" watch for drive-by hellos
Parkour pranksters shooting eggs at your window
Life's hard 'round here, I can't sleep
The sound of the birds gets on my nerves, it's too sweet
Good morning, Mrs. Reagan, how are you today?
Won't the postman wake you up? You need some Sellotape
And if that don't work, I'll just call up my boys
Pump action water pistol, that arson making voice
Straight outta Nice Place, a crazy mother lover named Ronnie Moon
Push it like the Clippers in the barber saloon
Shit so raw, make it so flies wanna feast on this
Shut up the suckers like Anise and Ciss
Now flow for days, sharp like a razor
And when you feel it, nothing can save ya
I'm bigger than bad, I'm badder than bold
About as far as I can get from being old
Used to wanna be a rap star, yes sir
Guest star with Gang Starr, KRS, and De La Soul
Practice in the mirror, grab my Bose, beatbox, and then I
Twist my hair and rock a mean ol' flow
Cursed Vanilla Ice on my airbrushed mic
For doing what I was doing worst
A walking identity crisis
Just like Skip Marley in the film "The Jerk"
British born and raised with the ways of black America
King of the freestyle, wasn't nobody better
My head was in the Bronx, stole my paper and leaves
Born to rock a party with my mom's LPs
Summer came along, I started hanging with the hippies
Took me a chill pill, started listening to The Clash
Cutting up Dylan in my mixtape mash
Flying like an eagle into the future
Goodbye b-boy, it's time to be a man
Found myself, I love myself, forming a charter, my band
This is as real as I can keep it on the microphone stand
My tale is the first and it won't be the last
30 One Mile, New Phaze, It's Singing, Is It Me?
LP number three, damn, I used to wanna be a rap star
Damn, I used to wanna be, damn, I used to wanna be
Used to wanna be a rap star, yes sir
