God has never promised skies ever blue
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through
He's never promised us a sun without the rain
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain
I wonder where we're going and how we got this far
Drowning in confusion, afraid we lost our guiding star
But it never ever changes, always on our side
Covering our souls, enlightening the night
And we are promised rest after labor, help from above
Never ending sympathy, undying love
We are promised rest after labor, help from above
Never ending sympathy, undying love
Love is very patient, love is very kind
Never speaks of vain winners
Rejoices when the truth wins out
If you love someone, it doesn't matter what the cost
Remember in temptation what the Lord has done for us
And we are promised rest after labor, help from above
Never ending sympathy, undying love
We are promised rest after labor, help from above
Never ending sympathy, undying love
