I sit in darkness, remembering the light
Of the Bais HaMikdash standing
Ooh, ooh, my fathers delight
I'm just a son yearning
A child who is returning
To my father's embrace
To the Shchina Hkdosha's face
I don't want a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
I don't need a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
You turned your face away
Just left me in despair
Your commandments I didn't obey
I know it's not unfair
But father please turn back
Now I know your Torah is right
Just give me the strength that I lack
In the yetzer hora's fight
I don't want a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
I don't need a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
You sent me to repent
To purify my soul
Well, now my head is bent
My heart is a burning coal
I've been wandering thousands of years
I was driven away from my home
You've shed millions of tears
While in pain you watched me roam
I don't want a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
No, I don't need a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
Know the time is now
I can feel it in my bones
Father, please show me how
A sinfull son atones
Now I'll just doing until the Shchina stops crying
'Til we all stop sighing
And soon we'll all be home
In Yerushalaim Habnuya
I don't want a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
I don't need a thing
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather tell the story of your holiness and glory
I don't want a thing, no!
I'd rather pray and sing
I don't need anything, no! No!
I'd rather pray and sing
I'd rather pray and sing
