Hide And Seek

The lyrics imagine existence beginning in emptiness, then being shaped by a solitary creator. Later, a female figure builds a complex world and plays a game within it. The repeated hope that someone will find “me in you” gives the song a searching, intimate feeling: creation is not only about making things, but also about seeking connection. The return to the opening emptiness leaves the story feeling circular.

The “distant hum” suggests a faint beginning before anything recognizable exists. The home “with its ups and its downs, its rain and its sun” may stand for a whole world, including both difficult and joyful experiences. Hide-and-seek becomes more than a children’s game: the creator hides within what has been made, then struggles to find the hidden parts again.

The lyrics do not clearly explain who the two beings are or how they relate to each other. They could be read as symbolic creators, or as figures representing different stages of making and discovering a world. The repeated invitation to find the speaker “in everything” and “in you” may suggest that traces of a creator can be found in both the world and other people. But the ending’s return to nothing also leaves open whether this search succeeds, or begins again.
