In the files of fine canines
You'll never find a dog so kind
There's none that could compare
With the dog that delivered
And from danger never quivered
A servant oh so rare
Most vertebrates vegetate
And subjugate and dedication
Dorsey did not shun
Missionaries, luminaries
Functionaries, visionaries
Dig the deeds he done
Ah, ah
Dorsey the mail carrying dog
The carrying dog
Talk about your carrying dog
Yeah, your carrying dog
People mainly manage mail
And that's the way it was
Until old Dorsey came along
A malady hit the postmaster
Home in bed with mustard plaster
Everything went wrong
The sprightly spotted super shepherd
Leaped up like a lovable leopard
Vivid volunteer
Run through danger, sneaky strangers
Never failing, never quailing
Showing far no fear
Ah, ah
Dorsey the mail carrying dog
What a carrying dog
Yeah, talk about your carrying dog
Oh, what a carrying dog
Ah, ah
Dorsey the mail carrying dog
Riders tried to ruin Dorsey
But of course he bit their horsies
What else could he do?
He could go through sleet and snow
And rain and so as you all know
The U.S. mail got through
You could hear the people cheer
365 Days a year
The dog who never tired
The postman who was sick admitted
Dorsey really did it
Quicker sat home by the fire
Ah, ah
Dorsey the mail carrying dog
What a carrying dog
Talk about your carrying dog
Yeah, the carrying dog
Talk about
