Lyrics
It was my first night on the boat
Quiver in my step and a lump in my throat
Oh so uptight
Scurrying around like a rabbit in the headlights
In an old sailor's eyes
I got the message, the word from the wise
There's no rush, there's no hurry
No need to be unnecessarily worried
On this floating factory
Where the hours are long but the fresh air is free
It was my second night on the boat
Out on the deck in my watch cap and coat
Learning my part
I heard their song, sad from the heart
How they were young long ago
Working for families missing them so
There's no rush, there's no hurry
No need to be unnecessarily worried
On this floating factory
Where the hours are long but the fresh air is free
Don't mean to say that their load is light
They got a thousand things to do both day and night
But their step is sure and they shoot straight
Don't need a world of trouble, trouble can wait
It was my last night on the boat
I put that rocksteady bass in my tote
Thoughts turn back to land
But at a new frequency, please understand
I'm coming back to you girl
And slow together we sail through the world
There's no rush, there's no hurry
No need to be unnecessarily worried
On this floating factory
Where the hours are long but the fresh air is free
