I have good news to bring, and that is why I sing
All my joys with you, I'd share
I'm gonna take a trip in the old gospel ship
And go sailing through the air
I'm gonna take a trip in the old gospel ship
Going far beyond the sky
I'm gonna shout and sing until all Heaven rings
When I'm bidding this world goodbye
If you are ashamed of me
You have no cause to be
For with Christ, I am an heir
Too much fault, you find
You're sure to be left behind
While I go sailing through the air
I'm gonna take a trip in the old gospel ship
Going far beyond the sky
Hey, I'm gonna shout and sing until all heaven rings
When I'm bidding this world goodbye
Oh, I can hardly wait
And I know I'll not be late
I'm gonna spend my time in prayer
And then when my ship comes in
Gonna leave this world of sin
And I'll go sailing out through the air
I'm gonna take a trip in the old gospel ship
I'm going far beyond the sky
I'm gonna shout and sing until the Heaven rings
When I'm biding this world goodbye
When I'm biding this world goodbye (goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)
Goodbye-
