Lyrics
I like a guitar
With a simple down stroke,
Just a good old six string
Without an ego.
Who am I kidding,
I could never play like that.
Shred the axe,
Like the other acts do.
When the band broke up
I bought a keyboard.
Now i'm tryin'
To play the black notes a little more.
Who am I kidding,
I've got nothing up my sleeve.
I've just got down stroke
And a simple melody.
Well I'm alive
And I'm well
And I've been working nine to five
Inside this shell
Just a beat and a melody,
That's enough to get me back onto my feet.
I'm alive and I'm well
and I have got to get myself out of this shell
with downstrokes and simple melodies
downstrokes and simple melodies
