The lyrics tell a comic story about a self-styled spiritual salesman who promises the speaker access to “Nirvana” for a fee. The speaker refuses to trust him, and the mood shifts from wary skepticism to a chaotic role reversal: the speaker imitates the salesman’s tricks and robs him. The humor comes from both characters trying to fool the other.

Several images make the salesman seem theatrical rather than genuinely wise: his “Mystery Robe,” a magical shaving kit, and a crystal ball. These objects suggest that impressive-looking props can help someone sell an illusion. “Cosmik Debris” seems to mean empty spiritual-sounding talk or nonsense dressed up as special knowledge. The speaker’s newspaper turban and “Mumbo Jumbos” parody the same performance, showing that he can use deception too.

The lyrics can be read as a satire of people who promise quick enlightenment or help in exchange for money, but the speaker is not presented as a simple moral hero. He mocks the salesman and exploits him, so the song also makes deception itself part of the joke. Its exaggerated language and strange details leave room for other readings, but the central contrast is between grand claims and ordinary self-interest.
