Grenade

The speaker describes a relationship that feels deeply unequal. He says he gave everything he had, while the other person took his affection and gave little or nothing back. The “grenade,” blade, train, and bullet are extreme images of danger and self-sacrifice. They show how far the speaker believes he would go, rather than describing ordinary acts of love. The claim that the other person would watch him burn is another dramatic image, expressing his belief that his pain would not matter to them.
