In memory of BB King
I would like to share something that I wrote
Immediately after hearing of his passing
To BB's guitar and lifelong companion, Lucille
I would just like you to know how thankful we are now
For taking care of our loving mentor, Mr. BB King for all these years
Night after night, BB told us stories of you, oh yes he did
How you were always there through thick and thin, to the very end
The thrill will never be gone
Your music will always live on
Oh, oh that's just the way I feel, thank you, Lucille
(Thank you)
I just wanna thank you (thank you Lucille)
I wanna thank you
ย
He said you were so loving and loyal
That you even saved his life
And night after night we would hear you sing
For BB and also for us, let me tell you
Ooh how you sang so beautiful, so clear, yes you did
With so much heart and soul, a joy to these ears
I can't hold back my tears
The thrill will never be gone
Your music will always live on
Oh, oh that's just the way I feel, thank you, Lucille
(Thank you)
I wanna thank you (thank you, Lucille)
I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart
(Thank you, Lucille)
When I think of all the audiences you have been held in front of
And all of the lights that you've shined under
And all the hearts you filled with hope and happiness
I am overwhelmed with your inspiration, oh yes I am
Thank you for giving my mentors hand a place to rest now
A place to call home
Well the thrill will never be gone
Your music will always live on
Oh, oh that's just the way I feel, yeah
Oh, oh now, that's just the way I feel, thank you, Lucille
(Thank you)
Ooh I gotta thank you (thank you, Lucille)
I just gotta thank you, Lucille (thank you, Lucille)
God bless you Riley (thank you)
God bless you Riley and Lucille (thank you, Lucille)
Oh, no-no-no, woah (thank you)
I wanna thank you, I wanna thank you (thank you, Lucille)
Oh, yeah, yeah (thank you)
Oh woah-woah
