The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
Growing up, black kid in a white church
The only black kid in my class, without a catalyst to site worth
White speakers, white preachers
Black History from white teachers,
Who taught me that white people oppressed by a Kingdom,
They revolutionized and won a fight for their freedom
The stories of their glory, their valor, and their bravery
But all they taught me about my people here was slavery
Imagine what that does to the psyche
To teach that none of the heroes of this life will look like me
Unintentional, sure but it's still manipulation
Though the implications are frightening
The idea that ideal is counter to what's founded in my little cells
Urge a black child to act counter to his inner self
Less worth, skin of the curse, live from the citadel
On God, that's a lie from the pit of hell
So when you look at me and all you sees an eyesore
Apparently I'm worth enough for Christ to die for
Lies when you say you don't see color
These brothers mean well but when you say that we shudder
More lies that the devil has told
Because for you to not notice my complexion was never the goal
You bring beauty to the table, I just bring a different kind of it
Honor it, acknowledge it, and don't pretend we're blind to it
The time for it is now, for us to elevate our interests
Embrace them, and engage them, then celebrate the difference
Ayo it's time to become intimate
'Cause long term this new earth, our time togethers infinite
Our timeline we stained it with division
But that all changes, from every tribe and every language
Imagine in the afterlife
A full choir of angels but only half is mic'd
Or God holding a prism, shinning light through every precious stone given
Then he veils a couple gems and now that rainbows only half as bright
That's crazy ain't it?
Well we can reconcile now, bring heaven to earth, yo we don't have to fight
Make peace with body
Be as diverse as those of whom we minister, if you ain't down for that you're sinister
'Cause every member of the bride yo he remembers her
The eyes and the mouth of the Author and the Finisher
The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
The mouth cried aloud that he can't see
The eye never gave him a response 'cause the eye couldn't speak
