Well there's a cabin road up above
my home where I've spent many nights
Yeah we've had some good times and we've had a couple fights
Where I learned to build a fire and I stole my first kiss
Where I had my first beer and them days I surely miss
Well my dad's dad walked along this road
He said son we'll build this cabin here and this we'll call our home
Away from all the troubles and the fights we have with life
It's the simple things that give us southern pride
On a Friday night when the weathers right the people come piling in
Four wheel drives and shotgun rides these people are my friends
Where the moonshine flows from the trickle of a spring
This cabin home this rocky road is where I wanna be
Well my dad's dad walked along this road
He said son we'll build this cabin here and this we'll call our home
Away from all the troubles and the fights we have with life
It's the simple things that give us southern pride
Waking up to the mess we made from the night before
I grab my boots I pack my bags and now I'm out the door
Sunday school is closing in man I'm always late
Friday night through Sunday morning cabin life is great
Well my dad's dad walked along this road
He said son we'll build this cabin here and this we'll call our home
Away from all the troubles and the fights we have with life
It's the simple things that give us southern pride
It's the simple things that give us southern pride
